Earth is the only planet that conveys LIFE…however; those things living in it (including me) are the ones KILLING it. We can say that Earth is the most blessed planet of all, composing of Nitrogen and Oxygen gases that allow human beings and other organisms to live here. A wondering of how bless Earth is, was not a thing to be questioned before, but now I wonder…”was Earth really blessed?” What do you think?
High intensity earthquake, heavy rains during summer, hotter days, colder nights, and abnormal weather conditions ― these are just some of the signs of GLOBAL WARMING. Global Warming is a condition where in our planet becomes warmer than usual, this is due to the Greenhouse effect. Greenhouse gases were formed from the Carbon Dioxide (CO2) and other gaseous chemicals that were trapped in our atmosphere. Due to these Greenhouse gases, sun’s rays entering the Earth’s atmosphere cannot reflect back because they are being trapped by these gases, thus making our planet WARMER.
Global Warming is a term that does not usually heard of about ten years ago until the year 2006 began. Al Gore, an American politician and environmentalist is the one spreading the word, he passionately open this issue to different religion, races, and countries. His documentary film entitled “An Inconvenient Truth” implies a message that our Earth is no longer on a good state.
Al Gore’s message in his documentary film made me realized that all the catastrophes happening now is not of God’s will, it’s man-made. Due to our lack of discipline, negligence and selfishness, Mother Nature speaks up and we are now having the taste of our own bitter medicine. We fail to realize that for industrial development, we sacrifice our planet, for too much civilization, we abused nature…we think of ourselves and ourselves only ― we consume too much electricity, we do not conserve water and for convenience (technology) we create horrible things. We forgot that God created us to nurture and protect His other creation not to deteriorate it.
For Earth’s sake, let’s change and be considerate. By now we need to change the way we used to live because if we will continue this way of living, the possible horror of the future will come near. Al Gore states that if no action will be taken, sooner the Earth will become even warmer and the climate will continue to change.
Global warming is not a problem of America or Philippines alone, it’s a global issue. Al Gore makes a call for us to act now and make the first step before the Earth reach the point of no return. Al Gore alone cannot help Mother Earth but WE…we can make a difference. Let’s think GLOBAL and act LOCAL, by simply conserving water and energy, by using bikes (if possible) instead of car, by planting trees, by proper waste disposal and many simple things, we can make a BIG difference.
Remember, we only have one Earth and we can’t afford another one because there is no “Earth for Sale ”. We cannot just evacuate to Mercury, Venus or Mars when the time Earth reach its total destruction because those planet were not created for us. Our Earth is our home, it was created for us, and we were created for it, so let’s protect, love and restore its beauty. Don’t wait for Earth to scream out loud, hear its silent plea…let’s SAVE MOTHER EARTH NOW!
